According to reports from Italy, Two Roma fans were arrested today after a violent attack on a group of Chelsea fans ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash.
The Local Police claimed that a group of ultras wearing masks and carrying sticks attacked by surprise on the group of Blues supporters as they were enjoying drinking in Shamrock pub, where the violent incident took place.

Luckily no one was hurt in the vicious incident and the police managed to get the hold of two Italians from the spot.
A witness explained the incident, “It all kicked off around midnight just as the pub was about to close up.
“It’s popular with visiting fans as it has a football theme and is in the center of town close to the Colosseum.
“This group of Roma fans burst in wearing masks and sticks and attacked the Chelsea fans who were heavily outnumbered.”
“It was chaos for a few minutes and then when police arrived the Roma fans ran off but they stopped two of them.”
Cops are already on red alert ahead of tonight’s match with around 2,000 Chelsea fans are expected in Rome and extra officers have been drafted in for further protection.
Rome has been the scene of various disturbances with English fans from Middlesborough and Man United being targeted in the past – the most serious clash was in 2007 when dozens of United fans were hurt in the clashes.
With such disastrous history record, along with the present incident, the police need to take every measure to ensure the safety of the fans. On this, a Rome police source said: “We have held meetings with representatives from the Metropolitan Police, the British Embassy and Roma football club.”
“We are prepared for everything and this will be a highly sensitive week for us with fans from Britain and the France coming this week as Nice play Lazio on Thursday.
“We will have a high number of officers on duty for the match and we will not tolerate excessive drinking or violent behavior.”
While on one hand, the police are yet to release a statement on the matter, on the other hand, Chelsea is readying themselves for their clash against Roma, despite off the pitch disturbances.
The Blues boss faces the tough selection of players ahead of their Champions League fixture, with his squad’s players injured at the moment. Ahead of the trip to Rome, Conte said, “It’s important for us to overcome this difficult period.”
“We are recovering important players, and you know very well how important it is for me to have all the players available.”
“Whenever you are playing seven games in 21 days, you don’t sort problems out overnight. You just have to try and do your best in every game to face this emergency. We’ve faced this situation since the beginning of the season. I hope it ends soon.”
“There are two big games before the international break, against Roma and then United on Sunday.”
“For us, for sure, two big games. But I like to repeat that the most important thing is to go game by game. The most important game is against Roma.”
“Which will be the final result? I don’t know. But we have to put all [out of] ourselves to try and get a good result. That will be really important, a good result. And then we must try and prepare for another tough game against United in the league.”
