Arsene Wenger backs Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah to star at the World Cup

Arsene Wenger has described Mohamed Salah as one of the best players in Europe and believes the Liverpool forward will be one of the standout performers at the World Cup this summer.
Since his arrival from Roma last June, the 25-year-old has made a major impact at Liverpool by scoring 35 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Salah will be Egypt’s talisman at the World Cup this summer and will be looking to help his nation progress from Group A, which also contains hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
And Wenger believes Salah has the track record to be a success in Russia.
‘For me, he’s one of the best players in Europe at the moment,’ the Arsenal manager told beIN Sports.

‘He can score goals against anybody because in England you have many good defenders and he’s top scorer in the Premier League.
‘He’s scored in Italy and in England.
‘So overall, I think to keep him quiet will be very difficult at the World Cup.’
